Zephaniah 3:17

I think some people don’t see God the way our verse describes Him. They were misinformed about life with God. They thought we would never have worries, anxious thoughts, or fears, but we do. There are a few reasons for that.

1. We live in a fallen sinful world. This isn’t Heaven where everything is great. In fact, the devil is the “ruler” of this world. Jesus said so Himself in John 12:31.

2. We have an enemy who wants to keep us from praying, reading the Bible, and attending church. Jesus also said that in John 10:10.

3. We need to get to know God as our Father & allow the Holy Spirit to move in our lives by renewing our minds with the truth of His Word. Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 4:23 & Psalm 103:8

4. We don’t know who we are in Christ. The Bible says we are a new creation, that we are fearfully & wonderfully made, and my favorite- we are God’s masterpiece created for GOOD works. Galatians 6:15, Psalm 139:14 & Ephesians 2:10 NLT

God is not a bully waiting for us to be anxious about something and causing things to be worse. It’s actually the opposite. He wants our thoughts fixed on Him so that we won’t allow anxiety to rule our lives. How many fears will He calm? ALL OF THEM!
