Zachariah 3:6-7
Zechariah was one of God’s Old Testament prophets. Chapter 3 is titled, “Cleansing for the High Priest”. Jeshua, a variant spelling of Joshua, was the High Priest at the time. Zechariah had a vision of Jeshua with an angel and Satan. Satan was making accusations against Jeshua. God rebuked him (Satan) and told someone to change his filthy clothes. (Because he was forgiven of his sins.) He was given “fine new clothes”. Our verses are after that.
While this was personal to Jeshua and God was telling him if he lived God’s ways, he would have authority over the Temple and courtyards, this applies to us too. Under the New Covenant, our BODIES are considered a temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19) Because of Jesus's death, burial, & resurrection, upon our confession of Faith & filling of the Holy Spirit, we have authority over our bodies. I am for sure doing my best to tell my body how to function according to God’s Word & with the authority Jesus gives me. Have you ever thought about that? Do you do the same thing when sickness and stuff comes your way?
