Job 36:11-12
In this chapter of Job, his friend Elihu is talking. After all of the bad stuff happened to Job and he also lost his health, then his friends showed up. At first, they mourned with him & sat in silence. But then they started talking! Ugh! They just couldn’t believe Job had not sinned. They just knew in their hearts that this must have been punishment from God.
While this is a great IF/THEN promise, I do think Elihu is trying to figure out why his friend was suffering. He was saying the people who listen & obey God are blessed. But those who don’t, won’t have the same prosperous life.
Don’t get me wrong, this is NOT the prosperity gospel. This is the truth of living for God & Him providing & supplying all that we need. God wants us to have a good life. He knows some people won’t choose Him. He wants a relationship with everyone. It doesn’t mean life will be perfect. However, He will be with us through every low time. Period.
