Romans 6:5-7
Some days I think we all forget that we are no longer slaves to sin. Over the years I’ve heard people say, “I am a sinner.” If you are truly a believer and follower of Christ, you are NO LONGER a sinner. You’ve been saved by grace. Therefore, you are a Christian who sins sometimes. We can’t get caught up in thinking incorrectly. That is a trap of the enemy. Do we puff up with pride? Of course not! We did not and cannnot save ourselves. But if you don't accept what Jesus's death, burial, & resurrection really mean, then you aren’t living God’s full potential.
What we focus on matters. I often tell people to “Shift your focus.” I text a bunch of people every morning 3 things I am grateful for & they text back so we don’t focus on JUST the negative of the day. Whatever you magnify is HUGE in your heart. That’s why focusing on what Jesus did and living His ways breaks those old sinful mindsets.
The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you trapped in a “woe is me” victim mindset of how you aren’t good enough for God. The truth is, no human was good enough. No one is righteous on their own. BUT GOD! Sin has no power over us anymore. Don’t believe the lie that it does!
