Romans 6:8-10
Today we pick up after yesterday’s verses. One major difference between Christianity and other “religions” is that Jesus actually rose from the grave AND He is still alive. There are many religions that claim someone to be their founder. But every one of those men are dead, never resurrected, and haven’t come back. They were humans. Only humans.
God has just always been. Jesus was already a part of the Trinity. And this whole redemption plan was already in place before Adam & Eve sinned.
Our lives, as Christians, should be lived through Jesus's victory over death. Death hurts us humans because we miss the person we love. Our love for them can no longer go to them, so we grieve. HOWEVER, we will see them again if we & they are Christians. They aren’t really dead, they just changed neighborhoods. (To quote the Big Daddy Weave song.)
Jesus broke the power of sin and grave once and for all! Today is Good Friday. I think the title is a little odd. It didn't feel good that day for Jesus or any of His followers. We know the whole story. But they had not realized the truth Jesus kept trying to tell them. Hold on though, Sunday is coming!!
