Psalm 55:22
What a great verse today! Let’s unpack it some. David wrote this as a song to be accompanied by stringed instruments. There is not a specific incident or life situation listed, so I’m unsure of the moment he wrote chapter 55, but it’s about him crying out to God and running from his enemies.
If we take David’s advice and give our burdens to the LORD, He will take care of us. This means all of the things that cause us anxiety. We weren’t created to live in chaos. God is a God of order. He wants us to live a good life.
That being said, God might not permit us to slip and fall, but He can’t help if WE do it ourselves. Does that make sense? If we don't give our burdens to Him, and we fall, then that's OUR fault, not His. God loves us so much that He wants to free us from any and all burden. It’s up to us to give them to Him. He can’t just take things from us. We must be willing to get it out of our lives. I’m so thankful He is there and that He will take any and all burden of anxiety I give Him!
