Proverbs 3:5-6

Our human “heart” can be described as our will, mind, and emotions. We are taught in Scripture that our hearts can be deceitful. (Jeremiah 17:9) As well as we must monitor our mouth because the heart is reflected in our words. (Luke 6:45) There are many other verses that talk about human “heart”. I chose these because when we trust in the LORD with ALL of our heart and depend on Him and not ourselves, we can kick anxiety out of our lives.

Whatever you focus on, matters. Anxiety works by keeping you focused on the issue. I always tell people “shift your focus!” Writing down grateful things (and texting them to friends) can help. When we sit in anxious thoughts, we are harming ourselves and not fully trusting God.

Seeking God’s will above our own is also a great way to knock out anxiety. It’s a fact that we don't always know the outcome of certain situations, but we can follow God’s ways of living and ask Hos opinion instead of doing what WE want. That takes the anxiousness out of decision making. Don’t you think?
