Proverbs 3:3-4

I know we wrote these verses last month, but I had to put them in this list too! In verse 3, my NLT Bible says, “Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!” The KJV says, “mercy and truth”. The NIV says, “love and faithfulness”. The Complete Jewish Bible says, “Grace and truth”. Any of these are good! They are attributes that we all need to live by. Solomon was suggesting that we write them deep in our hearts in order to live by them.

When we live our lives with loyalty, kindness, mercy, truth, love, and faithfulness, THEN we will find favor with God and man. We will also earn a good reputation. A good reputation is actually something we should all strive to live for. But here's the kicker…. we can’t live one way at home, one way at work, and one way at church. People who do that aren't really surrendered to the LORD. Our relationship with Him is an over all thing. It’s not separate.

God’s favor can and will touch every area of your life when you live His way. Does that mean life will be perfect? NOPE! We still live in a fallen sinful world with people who exercise free will. It does mean that He will bless us extra as we have tied these around our neck and written them deep in our hearts.

What do you think about our first IF/THEN promise from Scripture?
