Proverbs 28:13

Have you ever heard the saying, “You are only as sick as your secrets”? That's what this verse reminds me of. BUT, it also reminds me of how much mercy God gives us when we confess our sins. The main Person we need to go to with our sins is God. (Or Jesus) They have the power & mercy to forgive sins.

When we conceal and cover up sins, we aren’t living an authentic life. Let's be real here, God already knows. So, our confession isn’t for His benefit, it’s for ours. Once we are living authentically before God and others, we can live in mercy and much more! After we confess to God, we can confess to someone we trust. James 5:16 NLT says to, “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

No one is perfect. We all sin. We all fall short. BUT we can ALL be forgiven too! Only talk to someone you trust, and don’t hide your sins. You will feel better after you confess them. I promise.
