Proverbs 22:6-9
Today’s verses do not really go together at all, so we will go verse by verse. Verse 6 is a promise that I am holding on to personally. Some of my kids (grown adults) aren’t attending church anymore. If I had to guess, I’d say they weren’t reading their Bibles & praying either. Verse 6 is dear to me and I remind God of it often. Our children were raised in church, so I believe they will be back, solely because of this verse.
Being in debt makes life harder. My husband & I are working hard to get out of debt right now. We don't want to be servants to a lender. It’s not how God wants us to live either.
Eventually, all of the people who are living for the world and doing evil will end up where they belong. (UNLESS they meet God and accept Jesus.) Doing wrong bad things to good people will not work on God’s watch! He loves His children & at some point, He will put a stop to the injustice that happens to them.
I think the church needs to do better when it comes to the poor. Our government shouldn't be sending out checks & food stamps. The church of Jesus should be caring for the poor SO SO well that these government programs shut down. There are A LOT of churches who do an amazing job in some ways, don’t get me wrong, here. I know of food pantries & homeless ministries all over the USA.
God blesses us when we bless others. (That’s not why we should do it though.) I pray that one day we will see all the ways churches are helping and we will be moved. Locally & over seas. Usually, if you can meet someone's need, you can introduce them to Jesus. It’s a win, win!
