Proverbs 14:13 and 30
Today's verses may seem like they don’t have anything in common, but they do. It's about our heart. Of course, we have physical hearts, that pumps blood & keeps us alive. We also have emotional hearts.
Verse 13 is talking about grief. Grief is a BIG deal! It can last a long time or go away and come back. There is no rhyme or reason when it comes to grief. Laughter can help but of course it doesn’t heal. And despite what others say, time doesn’t heal either. Turning to God in our grief is wise. NOTHING else will satisfy us and help us better than Him & His ways.
We are taught in the New Testament to “live at peace with everyone”. (Romans 12:18 and Hebrews 12:14) Being at peace and peaceful is much healthier than living an anxious worrisome life. Jealousy will take away that peace. It will cause you to focus on what you don’t have, instead of what you do. That will only hurt yourself.
I’m so thankful that God inspired men to write write these things so we could grow from them all these years later. Aren't you?
