Philippians 2:1-2

Remember, Philippians is a letter from Paul to the church he helped start in the town of Philippi. Paul became a missionary after he met Jesus. He traveled a lot starting churches. His only form of communication was letters, and half the time he wrote those letters from prison. (He got thrown in jail for teaching about Jesus’ resurrection a lot!)

This section in Chapter 2 was titled, “Have The Attitude of Christ” in my Bible. Obviously something was going on that Paul had to address OR he was simply teaching them this lesson. Belonging to Jesus makes us different. Period. We should do everything listed in verse 2. In order to do that, we must be in tune with the Holy Spirit, be tender hearted & compassionate.

When there is a Biblical issue, that we KNOW it’s of God, we should agree on it. We don’t have to sweat the small stuff. God has a personal relationship with each of us. Our foundation is based on the fact that we were sinners, Christ died for our sins, and He rose from the grave. There are things the Bible DOES reference that people do, but I figure that’s between them & God. We shouldn’t judge or try to hold people accountable that we don’t know. (That’s like the street corner yelling person everyone dislikes.) Like I said yesterday, we can’t be the Holy Spirit for anyone.

We are called to love each other and work together with one mind & purpose. That purpose across the board is to introduce people to Jesus. Individually, God has gifted us with talents, skills, & abilities to reach people for Him though. Do you know what your purpose is?

God has shown us that we need community. We all have something to contribute, whether we think we do or not!
