Luke 12:29-32

Our verses today are Jesus talking. Starting at verse 22 in my Bible, it’s titled, “Teaching about Money and Possessions”. Just before verse 29, Jesus was talking about the lilies and how God takes care of them. Even though He says it later, Jesus is wanting us to not be afraid when it comes to our basic needs.

Seeking the Kingdom above all else means taking time to read your Bible, or write Scripture with me, pray, worship, and put Him in the front of your heart and life. Verse 31 is a promise. God WILL give you everything you need if you seek Him first. In my opinion, that's worth trying.

I know that for a little over 10 years, the ONLY way I made it was through God providing for me. I would sell things or make Christmas bows, or get tips at work. He was always there and I never went without.

One last thing, verse 32 is Jesus basically saying, “Don’t be afraid because it gives God pleasure, or He is happy, when He gives you the Kingdom!” The Complete Jewish Bible says, “God has resolved to give you the Kingdom.” The ESV Bible version uses “pleasure” and in Greek that can mean “take delight”. We shouldn’t be afraid to not have our daily provisions because God TAKES DELIGHT in doing things for us!
