Hebrews 13:6

One very interesting fact about the Bible is how many times the New Testament and Old Testament refer to each other. The Bible was written over a time period of 1,500 to 1,600 YEARS. It was written by at least 40 different men. I say all of that because our verse is actually quoting Psalm 118:6. The writer of that Psalm is not known, but we do know that David ran from Saul for years and wrote about it.

The writer of Hebrews was concluding his letter with Chapter 13. He was reminding them to keep loving each other, show hospitality to strangers because sometimes they are angels, help those in prison, help people being mistreated, honor all marriages, don’t love money because God will never leave or forsake you. Then our verse is written. It’s kind of compilation of good thoughts on how to live.

I think the quote in verse 5 of “I will never leave or forsake you.” from Deuteronomy 31:6 & 8 is why we shouldn’t fear humans. That promise from God is real and we can trust it. (I have a testimony to the fact that God will handle the people who mistreat you.)

God will help us through ANY situation we allow Him to. He is our Helper, but we have to let Him help. We will not fear anything or anyone because God’s got us!
