Lamentations 3:55-57

Jeremiah, often called the weeping prophet, wrote the book of Lamentations. At this time, Israel was divided. Judah had been ruined but Jeremiah found a little hope. He remembered God’s faithfulness. God’s mercies are new every morning Jeremiah says because of His faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:23)

In verses 52-54 Jeremiah describes being thrown in a pit by his enemies. He said they dropped stones on him and water rose over his head. He cried out to the LORD and He answered. We might not have been physically put in a pit, but we can all probably admit to a time of being in an emotional pit. Several things can cause us to go there. Staying focused on fears and problems will keep you there. I HIGHLY recommend writing down things you are grateful for every day. This can help with fear and get you out of the pit.

I wonder if fear, at times, means we aren’t trusting God. Kinda like worry does. We should place EVERY fear we face in His hands and let Him deal with it. He will help us if we allow Him to.
