Lamentations 3:22-24
It's my understanding that the prophet Jeremiah wrote the book of Lamentations. At the time, the Babylonians were destroying Jerusalem. These were poems of Jeremiah “lamenting” his sorrow over the destruction of the city, the suffering of the people, and the role of sin and God’s judgment. In the Old Testament, Israel was captured and exiled several times because they were not doing what God told them to.
This was a time in history that Israel had to endure and get through because of THEIR choices. Disobedience leads to problems. Sometimes the things we have to endure are no one’s fault but ourselves!
However, God is good and His mercies are new every morning! His love for us can never end because He would have to endure. We CAN have hope while enduring hardships. If God got Israel through it, He will get us through stuff too!
