Ephesians 3:20-21

In my Bible, these verses are the final 2 in the section titled, “Paul’s Prayer For Spiritual Growth”. The good things that come out of our hard times are:

  1. We learn to trust God more

  2. We grow spiritually

  3. The lessons we learn

No matter what we are enduring or getting through, God can do MORE than we can imagine. We honestly have no idea how He will use something in our life. But He can & will do more than our simple human brains can imagine.

Growing spiritually is good and important, but just like our relationship with God, it’s on an individual bases. It has to do with getting to know and trust God more. We do this by learning and applying His Word to our lives, which will help us grow in wisdom & discernment. The gifts and fruit of the Spirit should all be flowing in our lives as well. We aren’t EVER going to be perfect and the enemy KNOWS that one area that we struggle in so he hits us there. For me, it’s self esteem, specifically body image. All of my life he has led me to believe lies about myself and not love the skin I’m in. God can do more with that when I surrender it to Him and renew my mind with His Word.

Lastly, we learn lessons from the hard times. Relationally, we can learn what to do and what NOT to do. Financially we can follow God’s ways in finance and trust Him. No matter what we go through, we can always learn from it.

They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result each time. If we learn lessons from the rough stuff and grow, we can handle things better each time. It’s my prayer that something we talk about this month helps you next time you are going through something.
