Our verses today come just after Jesus taught about the vine. Jesus wanted us to know that living in His love and by His commandments brings joy. Some people might not realize that, but it's true.
Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, love us SO much. They love us more than we could think or imagine. That love and our love in return compels us to live His ways.
Some people don't want to give their lives to God because they think they won’t be able to have fun anymore. That's not true. We have fun! (Just not of this world fun.) Living by the commandments - especially the two Jesus said, brings us joy! “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” He also said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:34-40
In verse 40 of Matthew 22, Jesus said, “The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these 2 commands.” Living God’s way brings joy because His way is better than the world. We can never go wrong following Him!
