Joel 2:12-13

Starting at verse 12 in my Bible, it’s titled, “A Call To Repentance “. There had been a locust plague and they invaded like an army. Joel, a prophet of Israel at this moment, was speaking to the people on behalf of God.

Once again, we see God’s character. Merciful, compassionate, slow to get angry, & filled with unfailing love. PLEASE notice the last sentence in verse 13. My NLT says, “He is eager to relent and NOT punish.” Relent is defined as, “to soften in feeling, temper, or determination; to become more mild, compassionate or forgiving.”

God is not some cosmic bully sitting in Heaven waiting for us to mess up so He can strike us with lightening. He is merciful and compassionate and not eager to punish. I love God and how good He is!
