Isaiah 43:1-2
Today's verses are both good news and not so good news. Once again, we are told by God through a message to Israel, to not be afraid. God, through Jesus, paid the price for our sins on the cross. He has ransomed us and called us by name. We are His.
However, that does not give us a “get out of trouble” free life. In verse 2, God says WHEN we go through things, He will be with us. Not IF we go through hard things. This could be disheartening if we didn’t know the end of the story and the truth.
Becoming a Christian gives your life to Christ, then you allow Him to mold and shape you. The enemy of our souls can no longer have us, so he does the next best thing- fear. If he can keep us in fear of ANYTHING, that causes us to not trust God in that area of our lives. Fear is a liar! We can do anything God calls us to do because He then equips and encourages us to do it!
Difficulty and oppression have no power over the name of Jesus! Jesus is ALL powerful! At His name, everything has to flee that’s not of Him. Don’t get trapped in a lie! God is with us! Don’t be afraid!
