Isaiah 43:5-7
Several times and for various reasons, Israel was either sent into exile or invaded by surrounding countries. They have many years where they endured terrible times. Chapter 43 of Isaiah is titled, “The Savior of Israel.” God knew the ups and downs He would go through with them.
The really awesome thing about God is, He loves us, even when He is having to help us. I mean, for the most part, we exercise free will and make decisions that go against things God wants us to do. And even though we do stupid stuff, here He is, encouraging us to not be afraid because He is with us. No matter where we go or what we go through, He is there. We don't have to feel alone or afraid.
One other way I think these verses can be applied is in regard to loved ones that aren't walking with God anymore. He promises to bring them back. That’s what “gather them” makes me think of. How do you interpret these verses today?
