Hebrews 2:5-8
The first part of Hebrews chapter 2 is a warning against drifting from the faith. Paul mentions angels in verse 2 as well, but I missed that one. (Like several others, but hey, we only had a month on the topic of angels, right?) Basically, Paul is saying that we can't save ourselves. We’ve already broken the law. He also says we can't really escape the salvation that Jesus announced and how God confirmed the message with signs, miracles, and wonders.
The angels don't really control anything. Especially not the future. They do what they are told. Jesus was made lower than the angels so Ge could come to earth and die on the cross for us. He left Heaven and all its glory to become human. BUT, He had authority over everything because while He was human, He is God too! Emmanuel, God with us!
