Hebrews 2:14-15

Starting at verse 5 of Hebrews chapter 2, my Bible has the title, “Jesus, the Man”. At first he was warning about drifting away from the LORD, then he changed to explaining Jesus. For a little while, Jesus was given a position “a little lower than the angels”. Jesus said He makes us holy and we are His brothers and sisters adopted by God.

One thing that Jesus came to set us free fr was death itself. Everyone does eventually, but non-believers will miss out on eternity with God. There are TOO many near death experiences recorded to believe that nothing happens when we die. The Bible mentions both Heaven where God is and Hell. It also talks about the fact that we can have total separation from God in death.

What is so amazing to me is that Jesus came to earth to free everyone from death in Hell KNOWING we wouldn’t all chose that path. He could have decided it wasn’t worth it unless everyone was going to choose Heaven and God.

On that note, let me say, if you are a Christ follower who has an irrational fear of death, something needs to be done about it! It does not mean you aren’t saved! It could mean you are having an attack from the enemy and he is trying too keep you in a trap that Jesus already freed you from! If you are struggling, please talk to someone and let them pray for you. You can be free from it. I promise!
