Hebrews 11:13-14
Chapter 11 in Hebrews is the “Great Faith” chapter. Scholars aren’t 100% sure of the writer of Hebrews, but he did a great job on this letter. We will write from Hebrews today and tomorrow.
One thing we can trust is that God is a Promise Keeper. Most of these examples in verses 1-12 did get what God promised, just maybe not in the way or the timing that they thought. (I just feel like verse 13 can sound like God doesn’t keep promises, but He does. Please feel free to read verses 1-12 for yourself.)
The writer is saying they were OK not fully receiving EXACTLY what God said (or they thought) like a town with buildings because they knew they didn’t belong on earth forever. We should long for Heaven in a loving way… but not an obsessive way, I think. What do you think?
