Genesis 8:13-14
We skipped down a few verses today with another update on this timeline in the boat. As we wrote the other day, from Chapter 7, verse 11, Noah was 600 when he went in the boat on the 17th day of the second month. Now he is 601 and the earth was finally dry enough to go on. I’m not sure of what the covering looked like, but it must have been like for a window. All of the pictures people draw show Noah and the animals out on the boat deck. I’m not sure if that was the case.
So imagine being in a huge boat for a year and possibly no real way to get sunshine. Never touching the earth, floating for the longest time with 8 people and a ton of animals to care for. This wasn’t a cruise where they stopped at nice towns to shop off the boat. It wasn’t a boat with 24 hour food (that someone else cooked) and maid service. This wasn't a long hard year of hardship, I’m sure. Talk about resilience! Noah went through a lot to finally have the earth back.
Do you think you could have handled such a long time and such a task?
