Exodus 14:29-31

One of my favorite cartoon movies is called The Prince of Egypt. It’s all about this story of God rescuing Israel from Egypt. The music is good and the graphics are amazing! (Even though it’s from the 1990’s.) One of my favorite scenes is this one! I had forgotten that the Bible says the water “stood up like walls on both sides”. I'm sure the artists took some liberties, but the way they brought it to life was fabulous!

In case you don’t know the story, God’s chosen people, the Israelites, ended up in Egypt because of a famine. God used Joseph, Jacob’s son, to save a ton of people in Egypt. His family came so they could live. For a long time they were treated very well. But over time, no one remembered Joseph and his he helped save their country. The Pharaoh of that time decided to enskace them. They lived that way for 400 years until God sent Moses.

Our verses are God’s big finale to getting them out of Egypt. It was their new beginning as a free people.
