Genesis 1:26-27

Out of all the things God created, we were special and charged to reign over the animals on earth. This is something we don't realize today in my opinion. We tend to forget that God takes care of the animals, so why wouldn't He take care of us too?

Dictionary.com defines “image” as, “a physical likeness or representation of a person, animal, or thing, photographed, painted, sculpted, or otherwise made visible.” If we put that into perspective in regards to God creating us, He made us a visible representation of Himself.

This creation of human beings was a new beginning for them & God. He had not had humans around before Adam & Eve. I love how the Bible says God walked & talked with them in the garden. They were so close before the fall. The good news is, while we can walk & talk with Him like they did, by putting God first in our lives. Sometimes that’s a new beginning we can start over repeatedly.
