Ephesians 1:7-8

I love how Paul begins his letter to the church in Ephesus. He is all about giving God glory and reminding them & us of how awesome God really is.

What do you think of when you see or hear the word “rich”? Our society probably uses it differently than in Paul’s time. In my NLT Bible, Paul uses RICH to describe God’s kindness and grace. It makes me think “God is so generous & full of kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.”

Salvation is free. And we don’t have to accept it if we don’t want to. Because God is Sovereign and because He required a sacrifice for sins, in the Old Testament He set up all of the sacrifice rules and regulations. When Jesus came to earth, HE became the sacrifice once and for ALL. This purchased our freedom.

When I see the word “showered”, I think of 2 things… total body covered & cleansed. If you get caught in a rain shower & when you take a shower, the water touches you from your head to your feet. God does that to us with His kindness, wisdom, & understanding. Isn’t that amazing?
