1st Timothy 2:5-6

Both of the books of Timothy are letters from the Apostle Paul. Paul considered him as a son and taught him all of the things he knew. My Bible has these verses standing out for some reason. Does yours? (I will make it the picture today to go with the blog.) These 2 verses were obviously something that stood out and someone wanted to draw attention to them.

Just before our verses, Paul is encouraging Timothy to pray for ALL people. Even kings and people in authority.. so we can live in peaceful & quiet lives marked by Godliness and dignity. I wrote a note out by that verse. “Pray for those in authority whether you agree or voted for them.” Paul says doing that is good because God wants EVERYONE to be saved and understand the truth.

Then, he wrote our verses, which are said truth. Only God could reconcile us to Himself through Jesus. Jesus purchased our freedom on the cross and it is available to anyone in the world. He loves everyone and wants a relationship with us all.
