Daniel 2:22-23

Daniel had a very interesting life. At this time in history, Israel had disobeyed God, so He allowed King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon to capture them. He literally took some of them hostage and brought them to his country.

King Nebbie K ordered his Chief of staff to bring young men from Judah's royal family and other noble families to the palace. Daniel and 3 of his friends were in that group. (That tells us that Daniel was of high regard within the Israelites.)

Daniel stood up for themselves and refused to eat meat served to everyone, which of course brought attention to him and his friends. (Side note, this is where people came up with the Daniel fast.) THEN ole Nebbie K had a dream! He demanded his magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, & astrologers to tell him what he dreamt AND what it meant.

In his anger from no one knowing what his dream was, he sent someone to kill ALL of the “wise men” in Babylon. Daniel and his buddies were in that category. Daniel went to the king and asked for more time. Then he PRAYED! God revealed the dream to Daniel in a vision and starting in verse 19 he began praising and thanking God! God speaks to us in dreams & visions still. I’m so thankful for that!
