Colossians 3:15-17
I love Colossians chapter 3! It has so much wisdom on living a Christian life. My Bible has it titled, “Living the New Life”. At the time that Paul wrote this letter, he was going through his 1st Roman imprisonment.
Paul was teaching them the truth because they had been listening to false teaching. They were mixing Christianity with some Hellenistic traditions. I can only imagine, living under a certain law or way of life and then being told a new way. The only thing I can compare it with is living in another country. We have our rules, regulations, and way of life. Other countries have their own.
The people in Colossae knew nothing of Jesus's way of life until Paul visited and presented the Gospel. (I put a map as the picture to see how far away from Israel it was.) Then, he planted a church and left leaders in charge to help people in their faith. His letters were so important to them.
I should have had us write verse 14 as it helps since I started us with “and” in verse 15. But honestly, I'd read the whole chapter if you never have or haven't in awhile. Living in peace, love, and thankfulness will help you on your walk with God!
