1st Chronicles 29:13-14
King David wanted to build a Temple for God. He felt like it was wrong for him to live in a beautiful palace and the Ark of the Covenant and God were still in a tent. God told him he could not build the Temple, but his son could. So, in chapter 29 here of Chronicles, David starts collecting items for the Temple. David held a meeting to announce what he was doing.
Starting at verse 10, in my Bible, it’s titled, “David’s Prayer of Praise”. That prayer goes from verse 10 to verse 19. What’s really interesting to me is while most of us know all that God did for David, we also know some of the bad things he did. And yet, he was overflowing with thankfulness to God.
I feel like we have even MORE to be thankful for than David. Jesus has gifted us salvation through His death, burial, and resurrection. He paid a debt we couldn't pay. While we can't just give God anything, we can give Him our hearts & be in relationship with Him. That’s what He wants anyway. What are your thoughts on all of this?
