Luke 9:15-17

Today’s verses are one of the two times that Jesus fed thousands of people with only a little bit of food. The NIV version says, “looking up to Heaven, He gave thanks and broke them.” Other Bible translations (like mine) says He blessed the food.

When we look at the fact that God is our Provider, I think it’s 100% cool to THANK Him for our food. If you want to break it down, God has given us talents, skills, & abilities to work and make money. This, of course, in turn, let’s us buy groceries. So thanking God for our food is always a good thing.

As I said, I tend to not thank Him before meals sometimes. I need to do better at that. Do you say a prayer or thanks & blessing before you eat?
