Acts 2:1-4

This event was the very beginning of the Holy Spirit on earth available to everyone. In the Old Testament, certain people had the Holy Spirit. (And a few in the New Testament.) Jesus had to go away so that the Holy Spirit could come to earth.

If you remember, Jesus had the Passover meal with His disciples. Pentecost means 50 because it was a festival they had 50 days after Passover. This was something they were used to and many traveled to attend that festival. Jesus told His disciples to wait in the upper room. There were actually about 100 people there.

The Holy Spirit came on Jesus like a dove, but He came on them as flames & tongues of fire. This was a HUGE game changer! The Holy Spirit does so much for us! He’s with us 24/7 and will lead, guide, teach, comfort, and more if we allow Him to!
