2nd Timothy 2:8-10

Paul is the writer of 1st and 2nd Timothy. At the time of our verses, he was chained up for preaching the Good News about Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

Paul was named Saul before he met Jesus. He literally used to kill and imprison Christians. He was there when Stephen, Jesus's disciple was stoned to death. God radically saved and changed Paul to use him to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles.

NO ONE liked this movement of Jesus! Paul was treated terribly in so many places simply for starting churches and teaching about Jesus. I can imagine, on occasion, Paul, like myself once, might have prayed, “Hey God, I’m living for You and this bad stuff happened. What’s up with that?” It’s an honest question, isn’t it?

When we read the Bible and get to know God more, we learn that even the most Godly people go through hard times. God never causes it, or ever leaves during it. He walks through the junk with us. He also places people in our lives to help us navigate through the difficulties. I know I’m grateful for that!
