2nd Timothy 1:6-7

2nd Timothy is Paul’s second letter to Timothy. Paul was in prison a good bit because he was spreading the Gospel. Paul loved Timothy like a son, so he wanted to encourage and teach him through these letters.

Paul was reminding Timothy just a few verses before ours about his mom and grandmother’s faith and how they raised him. Some people have a back ground of faith and a relationship with God, some people don’t, and that’s ok. If you came to Christ older, He will place people in your life to help you on this journey.

God gives each of us spiritual gifts. Paul was reminding Timothy to use his for God’s glory. Do you know your gifts? There are many free online tests you can take. A lot of churches give them now too, as a part of their membership class. Knowing how God wired you really helps because you see how you can honor and glorify Him with what He gifted you with. (And churches want you to serve where YOU will be blessed. Not just because they need a person in a role.)

We should never allow fear to keep us from whatever God has called us to do. He loves us and created us on purpose for a purpose. Fear is an ungodly spirit that attacks us sometimes to keep us from doing what God told us to. It is NOT from God. We can rebuke it in Jesus name and walk in the power, love, and self-discipline He gave us!
