John 14:27-29

Starting at verse 15 of John Chapter 14, my Bible has the title, “Jesus Promises The Holy Spirit.” This whole section of Scripture is Jesus talking to Hos disciples just before He was arrested.

These men had been with Jesus almost daily for 3 years. They had seen MANY miraculous things happen. He told them the truth of His death, burial, and resurrection, but they didn’t fully understand. Jesus is telling them not to be afraid because of what He is about to go through. He was giving them peace to use to combat fear.

Jesus's promise of the Holy Spirit really happened and we have Him in our lives if we are Christians. One of the fruit of the Spirit is peace. (Fruit just means one of the attributes and things available to us through the Holy Spirit.) When or if you become afraid, you can ALWAYS ask the Holy Spirit for peace and He will help you. It’s already inside of you. You have 24/7/365 access! How awesome is that?!
