1st John 4:16-17

Most of us don’t really grasp just how much God loves us. (Myself included!) We tend to give God human attributes and get stuck in performance mode. We don’t have to perform to get God’s approval. We don’t have to be perfect. All we have to do is accept. Some people struggle with being loved. Period. God doesn't just love, He IS love!

Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection paid the way for our salvation. We just have to believe it to receive it. Once we do, we are good. We will go through the judgment mentioned in verse 16 with no fear whatsoever.

This judgment is talked about in Revelation chapter 20. Starting at verse 11, my Bible has the title, “The Final Judgment.” Every human being will stand before the LORD. He will open up the Book of Life to see if our name is there. Our name gets there by believing in Jesus, like I said before. We should not fear this event at all if we are positive we have Jesus in our lives and our name is written in that Book of Life!
