2nd Chronicles 1:11-12

Today's verses are God’s response to Solomon's request. (That we wrote yesterday.) In my opinion, this is an amazing way to start off being a king. This also shows you the God we love & serve.

Solomon knew the task of King of Israel was a huge one. As an adult, I’m sure he saw a lot of things. So asking for wisdom when he could have asked for anything God listed here is seriously incredible!

As far as the God we love and serve… first of all, Solomon is Bathsheba’s son. You know, the one David cheated with, got pregnant, and David had her husband killed in battle. Yeah, that one. (That baby passed away.) To choose Solomon from David’s other sons, to me, was a redemptive thing. Forgiveness in a huge way.

THEN, God gives MORE than Solomon asked for. And if we are honest, doesn’t He do that with us too? He is an exceedingly abundantly MORE God!
