2 Thessalonians 3:11-13

I know these verses seem odd, but hear me out. Verse 10 says that Paul gave them the command, “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.” That’s why verse 11 starts with “yet”.

Sometimes we have to endure hard times because we brought them on ourselves with our decisions. We have a free will to go against any Holy Spirit promptings and do our own thing. On occasion, that puts us in a seasoning of difficulties. God is there and He never leaves, but He can’t always fix our mistakes that we WILLINGLY made. In this case, some of the people weren’t working. They couldn’t blame their hunger on anyone but themselves.

Now, on the other side of that are the people following Paul’s teaching, working & doing good things. But like us, they get tired of working hard and seeing the non-workers prosper. And/or it gets tiring carrying ALL the weight. In those times, we MUST live by Holy Spirit promptings and do what He tells us to. There is a line we have to be careful not to cross, or we would bring more issues on ourselves.

Comparison will rob you! Do NOT fall for it! Especially on social media. Those are just people’s highlight reels. You have no idea what their life is like at home.
