2 Samuel 15:13-15

David was king of Israel at this point in history. Absalom is his adult son, the third in birth order. Starting in Chapter 13, we see Absalom killing his brother Amon because Amon raped his sister Tamar. David, of course, didn't approve of either son’s actions. But he put a wedge up between himself & Absalom. Absalom then rebelled and decided HE should be king.

My Bible has the title, “David escapes from Jerusalem” starting at verse 13. Once again, David had to run for his life, but this time from his own son. This is how life is sometimes. Other people's decisions really do affect us. Thankfully, hopefully, we will never have to run for our lives, but we all have had to go through something that wasn’t our fault. The good news is, God is always with us!
