1st Peter 1:16-17

Starting at verse 13, my Bible has a title of, “A Call To Holy Living”. Keep in mind, this is Peter writing. (The disciple who walked with Jesus for 3 years.) The Scriptures that Peter is referencing in verse 16 are Leviticus 11:44-45, Leviticus 19:2 and Leviticus 20:7. Here’s the kicker, we can’t be bolt on ou own! We MUST give our hearts & lives to God and accept Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection.

I like the fact that God doesn’t have favorites. That puts us all on even ground with everyone. Knowing that God doesn’t have favorite people should help our own self esteem. He loves equally.

Peter refers to us as “temporary residents” and how we need to live in reverent fear of the LORD. That is so true and something we should keep in mind.
