1 Samuel 1:19-20

Elkanah was married to two women, Penninnah & Hannah. The Penn lady had kids and was mean to Hannah because she didn’t. (Bullies have been around forever!) Every year they went to the Tabernacle in Shiloh to offer sacrifices for their sins.

One year, Hannah went up to pray after the meal. She was in such deep anguish & crying so hard! She made a vow to God and she said she would give her son back to Him if she would just be allowed to have him.

Eli the priest thought she was drunk. When she explained her sorrow, he told her to go in peace and Gid would grant her request. Little did he know he just helped his greatest apprentice to be born! Thus wasn’t just a new beginning for Hannah, but honestly, it was for Eli and the entire Jewish nation!
