1 Peter 4:10-11

Let’s remember this, Paul did not write this. Peter did. Peter who was Simon the fisherman. The fact that he was a fisherman basically meant that as a young boy, a Rabbi didn’t choose him. Their custom was for all boys to memorize the Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible. If a Rabbi thought they were worthy of moving forward into the priesthood, he would ask them to follow him. If not, they did their father's trade. Simon Peter and his brother Andrew were fishermen.

God saw something in Peter that He wanted to use. So, He told Peter to follow Him & he did. Peter walked with Jesus for 3 years. He eye witnessed MANY miracles. There has to be many more not even recorded. He thought he was just a washed up fisherman. But he was chosen.

We, too, get chosen by God. He wants to be in relationships with each of us. His relationship with Peter became close and out of His 12 disciples, Peter was one of 3 in Jesus’s inner circle.

God has gifted ever single person who trusts in Him with spiritual gifts. They are listed in 1 Corinthians 12:4-10. God wants us to use these gifts to help other Christians and bring non- Christians into the family.

I like to listen to Sean Smith sometimes. God has used him to reach people by telling them things from their past or prayers they prayed that ONLY God would know. That’s the proof they need to to believe God is real & He loves them, so they ask Him into their lives. We can do the same thing if we listen for God ourselves. Reaching people for Christ, through relationships is the way to go!
