1 John 3:16-17

Our society (and/or the enemy) has numbed us to the word love, as well as the meaning behind it. In one breath we say we love pizza, then turn around & say we love God. We need to come to the knowledge and revelation that GOD IS LOVE. We have His Spirit in us, therefore, we are able to walk in love if we push down our flesh. The enemy of our soul wants us to”looking for love in all the wrong places”. That normally leads us down a path of heart break & unhappiness.

REAL love is Jesus dying on the cross for us. Because He did that for us, we, in turn, should be willing to do that for the people we love. Family & friends.

Verse 17 is a good example of how to love practically. That’s what I enjoy about serve days at church. When you meet someone’s need, it’s easy to show them Jesus's love. Your service, especially to a stranger, really helps them SEE God’s love in a tangible way. After all, we have been called the hands & feet of Jesus. We should do for family & friends as well as anyone the Holy Spirit tells us to. When we do for others, we show God’s love!
