Romans 8:37-38
Starting at verse 31 in my Bible it says “Nothing Can Separate Us From God’s Love”. The list in verse 35 is what “all these things” are in verse 37:
Have trouble or calamity
Persecuted
Hungry or destitute
Danger or threatened with death
Our human instinct is to have problems and do one of two things. Either we think God is MAD at us or we think we did something wrong & He’s PUNISHING us. Neither are true. Nothing you can do will make God love you any less.
God never promised that life would be easy. In fact, Jesus Himself said in John 16:33 that we WILL have many troubles. He also said He came to give us abundant life. (John 10:10) Therefore, even in the midst of hard times, we can still have an abundant life that makes a difference.
Another truth is in verse 38, NOTHING can separate God’s love from us. Do you know why? Because God IS love and He can’t stop existing. He loves us through the good, bad, & the ugly times. He loves us in spite of ourselves even! That’s the best news, isn’t it?
