Romans 12:9-10
If I had to guess, I’d bet verse 9 is the reason someone invented the phrase, “love the sinner, hate the sin”. The reality is, we were ALL sinners st one point & love covers a MULTITUDE of sin. Loving people brings them to Jesus. Hate doesn’t. (Like yelling on the street corner or at rallies we would not normally be at is not living and will NOT make people want a personal relationship with Jesus.
Therefore, let’s do what God’s Word says and REALLY love people. Don't pretend to. Love looks different for different people, but it’s not hate.
People can tell when you are fake. You know? God calls us to genuinely love people. Honestly. Whole heartedly. Not for what you can get from them, but for what we can do in Jesus name for them.
Now, I have a challenge for everyone today! (Based on verse 10) I want you to text or post on social media to someone and honor them. Honoring someone is a combination of encouraging & complimenting. Pray and ask God who He would have you write to. Phone calls are ok, but a text or post can be saved and looked back at when they need to lift themselves up! Afterwards, if it's not too personal, let's post a screen shot in Group Me. Who’s with me!?!
