Chapter 98 does not have the writer’s name written on it. While we know David wrote a ton of Psalms, he did not write them all. As a matter of fact, Moses wrote my favorite Psalm 91, not David.
All of the verses in Psalm 98 are about music and singing joyfully to the LORD. Have you ever thought of the term “sing FOR joy” ? I could understand “sing FROM joy” or “sing BECAUSE of joy”. How do you sing FOR joy? Maybe you sing when you aren’t feeling joy and then the joy shows up?! Maybe you sing praises to God even when things aren't great but you know they WILL be great at some point.
Even without instruments, we can sing. There are so many worship songs we have access to. Turn one on today and worship God for joy! You will be glad you did!
I highly recommend the song God I’m Just Grateful by Chandler Moore & Elevation Worship.
