Psalm 34:4-6
David wrote this psalm at a particular time in his life. He was running for his life from Saul when he went to the town of Nob to see the priest Ahimelech. This was when David took the Holy Bread because he and his men needed food. He then took Goliath’s sword that had been kept in the Temple.
He fled from Saul but ended up in Philistine territory with King Achish of Gath. Let’s take a second here to think about this, David is running for his life because Saul is trying to kill him. Then he ends up at the enemy's place. He killed their largest warrior, Goliath. I’m sure he wasn’t very welcomed there either. I cannot imagine the anxiety and fear he must have felt. The Bible doesn’t say it in 1st Samuel 21, but God must have given him the idea to appear insane so that King Achish would let him go.
Based of his writings here, God answered his prayers & freed him from all his fears and troubles. God can still do the same thing for us! I love verse 5! I don’t know about you, but I want to be radiant with joy! I also don’t want to walk around in shame. God doesn’t want us to either. God hears our prayers and He will never leave or forsake us! Thank You Jesus for that truth!!
