Psalm 119:43-45

The Old Testament does have what feels a lot like laws/rules/commands or instructions. This was God’s way of establishing, leading, guiding, and setting people up for all of the good He had planned. The writer of Psalm 119 is not listed but is it a Hebrew acrostic poem. There are 22 stanzas, one for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet.

Because we are born with a sinful nature, we are just sinners from the beginning. Adam & Eve can be thanked for that. It was NOT God’s original plan. I am thankful that He gave us free will though. Had He just made us to obey Him & not think for ourselves, no one would genuinely love God. We would have been like robots that couldn't have a real relationship with anyone. (If you don't believe we are born sinners, think of a 2 year old that lied. That’s not learned. It’s just a part of our sinful nature.)

Thankfully, when we give our heart and life to God, we aren’t SINNERS anymore. We are Christians who sin. There is a huge difference.

God’s Word is our guide. He had men write it through the inspiration, leading, and guiding of the Holy Spirit. We can get to know Him, the way He wants us to live, apply His promises to our lives, see how much we are loved and find our freedom through Jesus in it.

I hope we all learn something new this month about our freedom in Jesus!
